Service providers and professionals
Map current service provision and professional knowledge across relevant sectors (multisectoral focus groups in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth) working in aged care, health care, policing and statutory responses, mediation, legal and financial services, migration industry, and multicultural community organisations.
Community leaders and community members (Vietnamese and Somali)
Detailed insights into understandings and experiences of abuse within two migrant groups
Bilingual research assistants or translators
Document detailed case studies of elder abuse in migrant families to build deep understanding of the structural, cultural, interpersonal and transnational dynamics of abuse. Multi-perspective interviewing of at least 3 participants per case
Policy stakeholders
Implement findings into policy and practice.
